407 Thwarted

407 Thwarted

I received a bill for $7.80 from the troll road thieves. They were kind enough to have three of their best minds debate me on the phone for over thirty minutes. They were determined to get their flesh.

I admitted I was on the highway using a borrowed transponder. They got angry at this and said that transponders were non-transferrable. You better take that up with your client, I have not entered into that agreement I said.

Now they wanted to know why they couldn’t read the box of tricks. Because your equipment was faulty. They didn’t like that and said it was impossible. I gave them their client’s name and they pulled it up on their screen. I told them where I got on the highway. Now they have a dilemma. Their client got on but never exited and the reverse was the case for me. All the timelines and dates matched.

Well they said I must have moved the box. No it was in the same place the whole time and I had made the same journey many times with no problem. A large truck had passed me on the exit ramp and I noticed your infallible box didn’t register. Maybe the big truck was faulty?

Now they wanted to bargain with me and said they would be happy if I paid their administration fee of around two dollars. I declined their offer. They said I had entered into an agreement when I got on their road. No I didn’t. I had a private agreement with your client. This got them very angry that their assumed contract could be circumvented by a private agreement.

They were however beginning to see the light. They went back to pleading for an administration fee. I had to explain that if I gave them even a penny it would consummate a contract between us that didn’t exist. They saw the full light now. They weren’t dealing with your average bear. I left them whimpering like puppy dogs.

I received another letter from them with all zero’s on it. More highway robbers caught.
