A friend of mine was walking back to his car with another buddy when he noticed a tow truck about to drive off with it. He stopped the driver and pleaded with him. The tow truck operator told him the only way he was dropping the car was if he paid a large fee. It would be larger if he had to pick it up from the impound.
My friend said – yes I will do anything, will you take a credit card? Yes said the driver. OK said my friend. I have to get my wallet out of the car. No problem. My friend and his buddy then got into his car and locked the doors.
The tow truck driver was stumped. What are you doing? F&%$ off was the reply. You see my friend knew that he could not tow a car with people in it. The tow truck driver was hopping mad and argued with him for ten minutes through a closed window. He kept telling him to drop the car. He also knew that if the tow operator called the police he would only get himself in trouble.
Finally he admitted his defeat and dropped the car. A funny story and a good lesson.
